The Hot Chick's User Guide to NYC

This public service announcement is brought to you today by Gigi.

I don’t know that I need to say much about this pot-o-gold I’ve stumbled upon, so I’ll just give the ladies of New York City a few words in parting:

-You now hold the key that allows you to avoid the desperate stares and needy catcalls of NYC construction workers for the rest of your days.

-Keep this handy-dandy map and legend duo in your purse at all times for accessibility.

-This might just change your life. It has already changed mine.

-Sorry, I haven’t yet broached the problem that is your average dirtball on the street (But don’t worry, ingrates – I’m working on it).

You can thank me later
.

And the phallic nature of the logos on the legend makes it a piece of man-art.

It amazes me that you're really that bothered by guys who clearly have half your IQ...maybe 1/3...I don't want to insult you by saying that.

Why can't women just take compliments? Don't you know this is how gorillas court women? You should be grateful they aren't slinging poo at you.

Men are simple creatures. no matter how much you wish we would be more complex, we're just not. If you think you know a man that is complex, you're not only wrong, but I also know a guy who is trying to sneak a peek at your cleavage when you arent looking.

It's just sorta how we are wired.

We can't help it if you're so hot!

Er, I mean, those are nice shoes...?

Hey non-creepy guy, you just triggered my immaturity response:

Blow me.

I like morons and non-creepy guys alike.

As for me writing this to imply I'm hot, not so much. Construction workers aren't very discriminatory, as it turns out. On the other hand, there's no argument as to whether or not hot chicks endure the bulk of the catcalls. This guide is dedicated to them.

Lastly, these aren't just "compliments." These are grotesque displays of animalistic desire. They're degrading.

If anyone can take a compliment, you know it's me. However, a line has to be drawn somewhere. And for doing so, ladies, you are welcome.

I still think you should be grateful that they aren't slinging poo...

As someone who's studied gender communication, the degrading comments from construction workers are a type of gendered violence. It's sexual harrassment, even though some may consider it to be a "mild" case. It's not about being able to take a compliment. They aren't making the comments to women they find attractive, they're leering at all women and making women uncomfortable. I don't know why other men don't understand that.

Thanks for the map, Gigi.
